Countryside is a village in Cook County, Illinois, United States. It is located approximately 18 miles southwest of downtown Chicago and has a population of around 6,000. The village was founded in 1833 and was originally known as Harlem. The name was changed to Countryside in 1893. The village is home to a number of parks and recreation areas, including the Countryside Park District, which offers a variety of programs and activities for residents. The village is also home to a number of historical sites, including the Countryside Historical Society Museum, which houses a collection of artifacts and documents related to the village's history.
