Cooperstown, New York, is a small village located in Otsego County, New York, United States. It is known as the home of the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum, and is also a popular tourist destination for its charming atmosphere and historical significance. The village has a humid continental climate, with warm summers and cold winters. Cooperstown was founded in 1786 by William Cooper, and was originally named Otsego. It was renamed in 1807 in honor of Cooper. The village has a rich history and heritage, and is home to several historic buildings and sites, including the Fenimore Art Museum and the Farmers' Museum.
