Concord, North Carolina, also known as Konkord, is a city located in the south-central part of the state, approximately 20 miles northeast of Charlotte. It has a humid subtropical climate with hot, humid summers and mild winters. Concord's history dates back to the 18th century when it was settled by German and Scotch-Irish immigrants. The city played a significant role in the American Civil War as a Confederate supply depot and transportation hub. Today, Concord is known for its motorsports heritage, being home to the Charlotte Motor Speedway, and for its thriving business and industry.
