It is located at the southern tip of the province, bordering the province of Davao Oriental. The municipality has a tropical climate, with an average temperature of 27 degrees Celsius. Comagascas was founded in 1917 and was named after the indigenous people who inhabited the area. The municipality has a rich cultural heritage, with many traditional festivals and dances.
