Columbus, Texas, also known as Kolumbus or Колумбус, is a city located in Colorado County, Texas, United States, at coordinates 29.7066200 latitude and -96.5396900 longitude. The city has a humid subtropical climate with hot, humid summers and mild winters. Columbus was founded in 1821 by German immigrants and is home to a number of historic sites, including the Columbus Historic District, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The city is also home to a number of cultural events, including the annual Texas Polka Festival.
