Codcod is a municipality in the province of Bohol, Philippines. It is located on the eastern coast of the island, and is bounded by the towns of Guindulman to the north, Mabini to the south, and Bilar to the west. The municipality has a total land area of 32.22 square kilometers, and is home to a population of over 18,000 people. The climate in Codcod is tropical, with an average temperature of 27 degrees Celsius. The municipality is prone to typhoons and other natural disasters. Codcod was founded in 1857, and was originally known as "Candijay". The town was renamed to "Codcod" in 1918. Codcod is home to a number of historical and cultural landmarks, including the Codcod Church, the Codcod Museum, and the Codcod Heritage Park.
