Cockeysville is a town in Baltimore County, Maryland, United States, located approximately 18 miles north of Baltimore. The town has a humid subtropical climate with hot, humid summers and cool, damp winters. Cockeysville was founded in 1754 by John Cockey, a Quaker who purchased 1,000 acres of land in the area. The town played a role in the American Revolutionary War, as it was a stop on the Baltimore-Philadelphia Post Road, and was visited by George Washington and other notable figures. Today, Cockeysville is a thriving community with a population of over 20,000 residents.
