Clark, South Dakota, is a small town located in the northeastern part of the state, near the South Dakota-Minnesota border. The town experiences cold, snowy winters and hot, humid summers. It was founded in 1880 as a railroad town and named after the Chicago and North Western Railway's vice president, Charles Clark. Clark has a rich heritage, with many of its early settlers being German and Norwegian immigrants.
