Clarendon, Arkansas, is a city located in the southeastern part of the state, approximately 40 miles east of Little Rock. The city has a humid subtropical climate with hot, humid summers and mild winters. Clarendon was founded in 1824 and named after Edward Hyde, 1st Earl of Clarendon. It is known for its historic downtown area, which features several buildings from the 19th century. The city is also home to the Clarendon School District and the Monroe County Historical Museum.
