Cisterna di Latina, Latium, Italy, is a town and comune in the province of Latina, about 60 kilometers southeast of Rome. It is located in the Agro Pontino, a fertile plain reclaimed from the Pontine Marshes in the 1930s. The climate is Mediterranean, with hot, dry summers and mild, wet winters. The town was founded in the 11th century as a fortified outpost of the Abbey of Farfa. It was later ruled by the Caetani family and the Colonna family. In the 19th century, it became part of the Kingdom of Italy.
