Chonggu is a town in Shanghai Shi, China, located at latitude 31.2036100 and longitude 121.1705600. It is also known by the names Ch'ung-ku-chen, Chung-ku, Ch’ung-ku-chen, zhong gu, and 重固. The town has a humid subtropical climate with hot, humid summers and cool, dry winters. Chonggu has a long history, dating back to the Song Dynasty (960-1279). It was an important trading center during the Ming and Qing dynasties (1368-1912). Today, Chonggu is a thriving town with a population of over 100,000 people.
