Chitradurga, also known as Chitaldroog, is a city in the state of Karnataka, India. It is located at 14.2333300° N, 76.4000000° E, in the central part of the state, about 200 km northwest of the state capital, Bengaluru. The city has a tropical savanna climate, with hot summers and mild winters. Chitradurga has a rich history and heritage, dating back to the 10th century. It was once the capital of the Hoysala Empire, and later came under the rule of the Vijayanagara Empire. The city is home to several historical monuments, including the Chitradurga Fort, which is one of the largest forts in India.
