Chino Valley, Arizona, is a small town located in the northwest part of the state, about 25 miles northwest of Prescott. The town has a population of about 11,000 people and is known for its beautiful scenery, mild climate, and friendly people. Chino Valley was founded in 1883 by a group of Mormon settlers. The town was originally called "Clover Valley," but the name was changed to "Chino Valley" in 1911 after the Chino Copper Company opened a mine in the area. The town's economy has been based on mining for much of its history, but in recent years it has diversified to include tourism and other industries.
