Cheremshanka is a rural locality (a selo) in Krasnouralsky District of Sverdlovsk Oblast, Russia. It is located on the bank of the Chusovaya River, 120 kilometers (75 mi) north of Yekaterinburg, the administrative center of the oblast. The climate is continental, with cold winters and warm summers. Cheremshanka was founded in 1674 as a settlement of Old Believers, who were persecuted by the Russian Orthodox Church. The village has a rich cultural heritage, with many traditional crafts and customs still practiced today.
