Ceres, California, is a city located in the Central Valley, approximately 90 miles southeast of Sacramento. With a population of around 45,000, Ceres enjoys a Mediterranean climate with hot, dry summers and mild, wet winters. The city was founded in 1918 and named after the Roman goddess of agriculture, Ceres. It has a rich agricultural heritage and is known for its production of almonds, walnuts, and other crops.
