Castiglione Torinese is a town in the Province of Turin, Piedmont, Italy. It is located 10 km (6 mi) northeast of Turin, at the foot of the Superga hill. The town has a population of about 6,000 people. The climate is temperate, with hot summers and cold winters. The town was founded in the 11th century and was originally a fief of the Counts of Savoy. In the 13th century, it became a free commune and was later ruled by the Visconti and Sforza families. In the 16th century, it was conquered by the French and became part of the Duchy of Savoy. In the 19th century, it became part of the Kingdom of Italy. The town is home to a number of historical and cultural attractions, including the Castello di Castiglione, the Church of San Martino, and the Palazzo Comunale.
