Castiglione d'Adda is a comune in the province of Lodi, Lombardy, Italy. It is located on the right bank of the Adda River, about 20 kilometers southeast of Milan. The town has a population of about 4,500 people. The climate is humid subtropical, with hot summers and cold winters. The town was founded in the 10th century by the Lombards. It was later ruled by the Visconti and Sforza families. In the 16th century, it was captured by the Spanish. The town was finally incorporated into the Kingdom of Italy in 1859. Castiglione d'Adda is home to several historical landmarks, including the Castello Sforzesco, the Palazzo Municipale, and the Chiesa di San Pietro.
