Castelbelforte is a town in the province of Mantua, Lombardy, Italy. It is located on the banks of the river Po, about 30 kilometers south of Mantua. The town has a population of about 6,000 people. The climate is humid subtropical, with hot, humid summers and cold, wet winters. The town was founded in the 10th century by the Lombards, and it was later ruled by the Byzantines, the Franks, and the Holy Roman Empire. In the 15th century, Castelbelforte became part of the Duchy of Mantua, and it remained under Mantuan rule until the 18th century. The town is home to a number of historical sites, including the Castello di Castelbelforte, the Church of San Lorenzo, and the Palazzo Pretorio.
