Castel Rozzone is a comune in the province of Bergamo, Lombardy, Italy. It is located at an altitude of 210 meters above sea level, on the right bank of the Adda River. The climate is humid subtropical, with hot, humid summers and cold, foggy winters. The town was founded in the 10th century by the Lombard king Berengar II, and its name derives from the Latin words "castrum" (castle) and "rutianum" (red). The town has a rich history, having been ruled by the Visconti, Sforza, and Gonzaga families, and has been the site of numerous battles. Castel Rozzone is home to several historical monuments, including the 13th-century Castello di Rozzone, the 15th-century Chiesa di San Giorgio, and the 17th-century Palazzo Comunale.
