Casaletto Lodigiano is a town in the province of Lodi in Lombardy, Italy. It is located in the Po Valley, about 30 km (19 mi) southeast of Milan. The town has a population of about 1,700 people. The climate is humid subtropical, with hot, humid summers and cold, foggy winters. The town was founded in the 12th century by the Benedictine monks of the Abbey of San Pietro al Monte. It was later ruled by the Visconti and Sforza families of Milan. In the 18th century, the town became part of the Kingdom of Sardinia. After the unification of Italy in 1861, Casaletto Lodigiano became part of the Kingdom of Italy. The town's economy is based on agriculture, with rice, wheat, and corn being the main crops.
