Canepina is a town in the province of Viterbo, Lazio, central Italy. It is located 80 kilometers north of Rome, in the Cimini Mountains, at an elevation of 520 meters above sea level. The town has a Mediterranean climate, with hot, dry summers and mild, wet winters. Canepina was founded by the Etruscans in the 6th century BC, and was later conquered by the Romans. In the Middle Ages, it was a fief of the Orsini family. The town is known for its medieval architecture, including the 13th-century Palazzo Orsini and the 14th-century Chiesa di San Francesco.
