Camden, North Carolina, is a town in Camden County with a population of 585 as of 2010. It is located in the northeastern part of the state, near the border with Virginia. The town was founded in 1777 and named after Charles Pratt, 1st Earl Camden, a British statesman who supported the American Revolution. Camden has a humid subtropical climate with hot, humid summers and mild winters. The town is home to several historic sites, including the Camden County Courthouse, which was built in 1820 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
