Calvos, also known as Calvos de Randin, is a municipality in the province of Ourense, Galicia, Spain. It is located at an altitude of 550 meters above sea level, in the valley of the Sil River. The climate is humid continental, with average temperatures ranging from 8°C in January to 23°C in July. Calvos has a rich history, with evidence of human settlement dating back to the Bronze Age. It was part of the Roman Empire, and later became a feudal territory. In the 15th century, it was incorporated into the Kingdom of Spain. The municipality is known for its well-preserved medieval architecture, including the Castle of Calvos, the Church of Santa María, and the Town Hall.
