Calaba is a municipality located in the province of Zambales, Central Luzon, Philippines. It is situated at the western part of the province, bordered by the municipalities of Botolan to the north, San Marcelino to the east, San Antonio to the south, and the South China Sea to the west. The municipality has a tropical monsoon climate, with an average temperature of 27°C and an average annual rainfall of 2,000 mm. Calaba was established in 1611 by Spanish missionaries, and its name is derived from the Kapampangan word "kalaba", which means "gourd". The municipality is known for its rich cultural heritage, which includes the traditional dances of "kundiman" and "balitao", as well as the annual "Pista ng Calaba" festival, which is held in honor of the town's patron saint, San Juan Bautista.
