The town was founded in the early 18th century by a group of Quaker families and was named after one of its early settlers, Thomas Brown. Browns Mills played a significant role in the American Revolutionary War, as it was the site of a battle between British and American forces in 1778. Today, Browns Mills is a thriving community with a population of over 11,000 people.
