Brewster, New York, is a town in Putnam County, approximately 50 miles northeast of New York City. It has a humid continental climate with warm, humid summers and cold, snowy winters. The town was founded in 1788 and is named after its first settler, Caleb Brewster. It has a rich history, including being a stop on the Underground Railroad and the site of several Revolutionary War skirmishes.
