Breckinridge Center, Kentucky, is a small unincorporated community located in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky, United States. The community is situated at an elevation of 495 feet (151 m) above sea level and has a humid subtropical climate with hot, humid summers and mild winters. The community was founded in the early 19th century and was named after John Breckinridge, a prominent Kentucky politician. Breckinridge Center is home to a number of historic buildings, including the Breckinridge Center Schoolhouse, which was built in 1830 and is one of the oldest surviving schoolhouses in Kentucky.
