Bonares is a municipality in the province of Huelva, Andalusia, Spain. It is located in the southwest of the province, in the comarca of El Condado. The municipality has an area of 65.6 square kilometers and a population of 5,952 (2020). The climate is Mediterranean, with hot summers and mild winters. Bonares has a long history, dating back to the Roman era. The town was conquered by the Arabs in the 8th century and remained under their rule until the 13th century. In the 15th century, Bonares was granted the title of town by King Enrique IV of Castile. The town's heritage includes several churches, convents, and other historical buildings.
