Bogolyubovo is a town in Vladimir Oblast, Russia, located on the Klyazma River, 10 kilometers northeast of Vladimir. The town has a population of 2,500 people and is known for its 12th-century Church of the Intercession on the Nerl, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The town was founded in 1158 by Prince Andrey Bogolyubsky, who made it his capital. The town was sacked by the Mongols in 1238 and never regained its former importance.
