Bimenes, also known as San Emeterio, is a municipality in the Principality of Asturias, Spain. It is located in the central part of the region, at an altitude of 400 meters above sea level. The climate is temperate, with average temperatures ranging from 10°C in January to 25°C in August. The municipality has a rich history, dating back to the Roman era. It was part of the Kingdom of Asturias from the 8th century and later became part of the Kingdom of León. The municipality is home to several historical sites, including the Romanesque church of San Emeterio, the Gothic church of San Miguel, and the Baroque palace of the Marquis of Bimenes.
