Berg is a municipality in the Ahrweiler district, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It is located on the river Ahr, about 30 km southwest of Bonn. The municipality has a population of about 1,500 people. The climate is temperate, with average temperatures ranging from 0°C in January to 20°C in July. The municipality has a long history, dating back to the Middle Ages. The first mention of Berg was in 1103. The municipality was part of the Holy Roman Empire until 1806, when it became part of Prussia. After World War II, Berg became part of the Federal Republic of Germany. The municipality is home to a number of historical buildings, including the Berg Castle and the St. Peter's Church.
