Béning-lès-Saint-Avold is a commune in the Moselle department in the Grand Est region of north-eastern France, approximately 300 kilometres (190 mi) east of Paris. The commune is located in the arrondissement of Forbach-Boulay-Moselle and the canton of Saint-Avold-2. The commune is bordered by the communes of Saint-Avold to the north, Macheren to the east, Hombourg-Haut to the south, and Freyming-Merlebach to the west. The commune is served by the A4 autoroute and the N33 national road. The commune is located in the Moselle valley and has a temperate climate. The commune is home to the Château de Béning-lès-Saint-Avold, which was built in the 18th century. The commune is also home to the Église Saint-Martin, which was built in the 19th century.
