Beltsville is a town in Prince George's County, Maryland, United States. It is located approximately 15 miles (24 km) northeast of Washington, D.C., and has a population of around 17,000 people. The town was founded in 1890 and is named after the Beltsville Agricultural Research Center, which is located nearby. Beltsville has a humid subtropical climate, with hot, humid summers and mild winters. The town is home to a number of historical sites, including the Montpelier Mansion and the Beltsville Agricultural Research Center.
