Bellvís, also known as Bellvis, is a municipality in the comarca of Pla d'Urgell, Catalonia, Spain. It is located at an altitude of 276 meters above sea level and has a population of 2,287 inhabitants (2021). The municipality covers an area of 46.94 km2 and is located at 41°40'21"N 0°49'03"E. The climate is temperate with an average annual temperature of 14.5 °C and an average annual precipitation of 450 mm. Bellvís has a long history dating back to the Middle Ages. The town was first mentioned in 1080 and was granted a charter in 1213. The town walls were built in the 14th century and the church of Sant Pere was built in the 16th century. Bellvís has a rich cultural heritage and is home to several museums and cultural centers. The town is also known for its traditional festivals, including the Festa Major, which is held in August.
