Belfast is a small borough in Northampton County, Pennsylvania, located at the intersection of the Delaware and Lehigh Rivers. The borough has a humid continental climate with hot, humid summers and cold, snowy winters. Belfast was founded in 1737 by a group of German immigrants and was originally known as Belpfast after the Swiss city of the same name. The borough's name was later changed to Belfast in 1803.
