Belfair, Washington, is a town located in Mason County, Washington, United States. It is situated on the southern shore of Hood Canal, about 20 miles (32 kilometers) southwest of Bremerton. The town has a population of about 4,000 people and is known for its beautiful waterfront views, charming downtown area, and rich history. The weather in Belfair is mild and temperate, with average temperatures ranging from 40°F to 65°F throughout the year. The town was founded in 1852 by Captain William Renton and was originally known as Rentonville. It was renamed Belfair in 1891 in honor of Captain Renton's wife, Bella. Belfair has a rich history and heritage, and is home to several historical sites, including the Belfair State Park, which is a popular destination for camping, fishing, and boating.
