Belaya Kalitva is a town in Rostov Oblast, Russia, located on the left bank of the Seversky Donets River, 170 km northeast of Rostov-on-Don. It has a population of around 40,000 people. The town was founded in 1703 as a fortress to protect the southern borders of the Russian Empire. It has a humid continental climate, with hot summers and cold winters. Belaya Kalitva is known for its rich history and cultural heritage, including the Belaya Kalitva Historical Museum, the Church of the Intercession, and the Monument to the Cossacks.
