Batan, officially the Municipality of Batan, is a 4th class municipality in the province of Aklan, Western Visayas, Philippines. It is located on the northwestern coast of the province, and is bounded by the municipality of New Washington to the north, the municipality of Ibajay to the east, and the municipality of Madalag to the south. The municipality has a total land area of 123.40 square kilometers and a population of 33,237 people as of the 2020 census. The municipality is known for its beautiful beaches, including the popular Boracay Island. The municipality has a tropical climate, with an average temperature of 27 degrees Celsius. The municipality is home to a number of historical and cultural sites, including the Batan Church, which was built in the 18th century.
