Barishāl, also known as Bakerganj, is a city in the southern part of Bangladesh, located in the Barisal Division. The city has a humid subtropical climate, with average temperatures ranging from 18°C to 32°C throughout the year. Barishāl has a rich history, dating back to the 15th century when it was ruled by the Baro-Bhuiyans. The city is also home to a number of historical and cultural sites, including the Barishal Museum and the Barishal Public Library.
