Balakhonovskoye is a rural locality (a selo) in Stavropolsky District of Stavropol Krai, Russia, located at the confluence of the Balakhonka and Egorlyk rivers. The village was founded in 1825 as the village of Bogoslovskoye and renamed Balakhonovskoye in 1963. It has a population of 3,173 (2010 Census). The climate is temperate continental with hot summers and cold winters. The average temperature in January is -4.5 °C (23.9 °F), and the average temperature in July is 24.5 °C (76.1 °F). The village is home to a number of historical and cultural sites, including the Church of the Holy Trinity, built in 1852, and the Balakhonovsky Museum of Local Lore, which houses a collection of artifacts related to the history of the village and the surrounding area.
