Baalbek, also known as Heliopolis, is a city located in the Baalbek-Hermel Governorate of Lebanon, approximately 85 kilometers northeast of Beirut. The city has a rich history and is home to some of the best-preserved Roman ruins in the world, including the Temple of Jupiter, the Temple of Bacchus, and the Temple of Venus. The city's Mediterranean climate features hot, dry summers and mild, wet winters.
