Ayía Paraskeví is a municipality in the northern part of the Athens metropolitan area, in Greece. The municipality has a population of 59,704 (2011 census) and an area of 7.673 km2. The municipality is named after the homonymous church in the center of the town, which is dedicated to Saint Paraskevi. The municipality was created in 1947, when the community of Ayía Paraskeví was separated from the municipality of Chalandri. The municipality includes the suburbs of Ayía Paraskeví, Anthousa, and Pefkakia. The municipality is located in the northeastern part of the Athens metropolitan area, and is bordered by the municipalities of Chalandri to the south, Marousi to the west, Kifisia to the north, and Lykovrysi to the east. The municipality is served by the Athens Metro Line 1, which has a station in Ayía Paraskeví. The municipality is also served by several bus lines. The climate of Ayía Paraskeví is Mediterranean, with hot, dry summers and mild, wet winters.
