Argamasilla de Calatrava is a municipality in the province of Ciudad Real, in the autonomous community of Castilla-La Mancha, Spain. It is located at an altitude of 644 m and has a population of 6,013 (2020). The municipality is located in the center of the province, on the banks of the Guadiana River. The climate is Mediterranean, with hot summers and mild winters. The average temperature is 14.5 °C and the average annual rainfall is 450 mm. The municipality has a rich history, dating back to the Roman era. It was part of the Kingdom of Toledo until 1212, when it was conquered by the Kingdom of Castile. In 1526, it was granted the title of "villa" by King Charles I. The municipality is home to a number of historical monuments, including the Church of San Juan Bautista, the Convent of San Francisco, and the Palace of the Counts of Cirat.
