Aretxabaleta, also known as Arechavaleta, is a town in the Basque Country of Spain, located in the province of Gipuzkoa at an altitude of 170 meters (560 ft) above sea level. The town has a humid subtropical climate with mild winters and warm summers. Its history dates back to the Middle Ages, when it was founded as a fortified town by the King of Navarre. Aretxabaleta has a rich heritage, including several historic buildings such as the Church of San Miguel Arcángel and the Town Hall.
