Anna, also known as Анна, is a city in Voronezh Oblast, Russia, located at 51.4842° N, 40.4299° E. The city has a humid continental climate with cold, snowy winters and warm, humid summers. Anna was founded in 1702 by Peter the Great as a fortress to protect the southern border of the Russian Empire. It played a significant role in the Battle of Voronezh during World War II and was awarded the title of "Hero City" in 1975. Today, Anna is a thriving industrial and cultural center with a rich heritage and numerous historical landmarks.
