Andreapol', Tverskaya, Russia is a town located in the north-western part of the Tver Oblast, on the banks of the Andreapolka River, 380 kilometers northwest of Moscow. The town has a population of 8,800 people (2021). The climate is temperate continental, with warm summers and cold winters. Andreapol' was first mentioned in chronicles in 1478 as a village called Dubno. In 1776, it was granted town status by Catherine the Great and renamed Andreapol' after Saint Andrew the First-Called. The town is home to several historical and cultural landmarks, including the Church of the Intercession, built in 1785, and the Andreapol' Museum of Local Lore, which houses a collection of artifacts from the town's history.
