Alkhan-Kala, also known as Mezhdugor'ye, is a rural locality in the Grozny District of the Chechen Republic, Russia. It is located in the northeastern part of the republic, on the banks of the Alkhan-Cherty River, at an altitude of 123 meters above sea level. The climate is temperate continental, with hot summers and cold winters. The average annual temperature is 10.5°C, and the average annual precipitation is 600 mm. The history of Alkhan-Kala dates back to the 13th century, when it was a major settlement of the Kumyk people. In the 16th century, it was conquered by the Russian Empire and became part of the Terek Oblast. In the 19th century, it was renamed Mezhdugor'ye and became a center of Cossack settlement. In 1944, the Chechen and Ingush people were deported from the area, and the village was renamed Alkhan-Kala. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, the Chechen and Ingush people returned to the area, and Alkhan-Kala became part of the Chechen Republic.
