Akyaka, also known as Kizilcakcak, is a village located in the Kars Province of Turkey, near the border with Armenia. It is situated at an elevation of 1,950 meters above sea level and has a cold and snowy climate. The village has a rich history and heritage, with evidence of human habitation dating back to the Bronze Age. In the 19th century, Akyaka was part of the Russian Empire and was known as Suregel. After the Russo-Turkish War of 1877-1878, the village was ceded to the Ottoman Empire and renamed Akyaka.
