Acuto, also known as Akuto, is a comune in the province of Frosinone, Lazio, Italy. Located approximately 100 km (62 mi) southeast of Rome and 25 km (16 mi) southwest of Frosinone, it lies at an elevation of 333 m (1,093 ft) above sea level. The climate is temperate, with average temperatures ranging from 7°C (45°F) in January to 25°C (77°F) in July. Acuto has a rich history dating back to the Roman era, with its name derived from the Latin word "acutus" meaning "sharp", referring to the shape of the hill on which the town is built. The town is known for its medieval castle, the Castello di Acuto, which was built in the 11th century and is one of the best-preserved examples of medieval architecture in the region.
