Acatzingo de Hidalgo, also known as Acatzingo, is a municipality in the Mexican state of Puebla. It is located at an altitude of 2,170 meters (7,120 feet) above sea level and has a population of 63,284 inhabitants. The municipality has a humid subtropical climate with an average temperature of 18°C (64°F) and an annual precipitation of 1,200 millimeters (47 inches). The municipality was founded in 1541 by Spanish settlers and was named after the Nahuatl word "acatzintli", which means "cane field". The municipality is home to several historical and cultural landmarks, including the Church of San Juan Bautista, the Convent of San Francisco, and the Museum of Acatzingo.
